How can I buy this system?

The short answer is that creative.space is not available for purchase because it is offered as a service. DigitalGlue has been selling enterprise storage solutions from other vendors for 20 years, but those solutions come with some challenges. When you purchase storage, you have to pay taxes on it and the value of the storage depreciates each year. Additionally, you need to pay 10-25% of the purchase price each year for a Service Level Agreement (SLA) to get reactive support.

To solve these challenges, DigitalGlue created On-Premise Managed Storage (OPMS). This service combines hardware, software, and support into a single monthly or annual rate that can be treated as an operational expense. With our advanced architecture, we offer high-performance storage at a lower price than traditional solutions that only include an SLA cost.

What kind of support is included?

DigitalGlue's proactive support is a unique feature of our creative.space platform, designed to save customers time and money. With over 2000 system metrics monitored every second, we're able to catch issues up to three months in advance, before they impact your operation. Our support team is always ready to help, but we're usually the ones reaching out to our customers, not the other way around.

We offer three levels of support based on your security requirements:

1. VPN-based Proactive Support: Storage is connected to the internet and the support team is able to access via secure VPN to address issues.

2. Email-based Proactive Support: A secure firewall only allows outbound emails. Alarms trigger emails to be sent that include a description of the problem and a 10 minute diagnostic view of the system. Support will reach out to assist an on-site representative.

3. Reactive Support: No connection is available to storage. Notifications can be sent to customer-defined representatives internally. Customer must reach out to DigitalGlue team for support. Support logs can be downloaded by customer and sent to support.

With reactive support, it's on you to monitor the storage vendor's software and ensure there aren't any issues. Little issues can snowball into big ones, and nobody notices until it's too late.

How is my data backed up?

At DigitalGlue, we understand how important it is for video professionals to protect their valuable data. We offer multiple tiers of storage options that can be combined to maximize redundancy and cost savings.

A software-based RAID protects against data loss in varying drive failure scenarios. Additionally, all of our systems include a feature called Snapshots that can help protect against data loss. When you take a Snapshot of one of your Spaces, a read-only copy of it is instantly created that doesn't take up any additional space. As you revise and delete files, the Snapshot goes in size. If something goes wrong, you can easily go back to a previous version of your data and avoid losing any valuable work.

Even with RAID and Snapshots, we recommend that always backing up valuable data to a secondary and even tertiary storage tier to prevent loss. Our //TANK provides an affordable high-density nearline solution that is still fast enough to work off of when needed. As a systems integrator, we can also work with you to evaluate, design, and implement archival solutions such as cloud or tape backup.

By offering multiple options for backing up data and protecting against data loss, we help video professionals feel confident that their work is safe and secure.

How do I collaborate with remote users?

To collaborate with remote users, DigitalGlue offers several features.

First, users can access the same files on-premises and remotely through VPN integration. Proxies can be created for each file, allowing for real-time remote editing.

Second, users also have the option to transfer files as needed through a drag-and-drop upload feature or by connecting through FTP. Downloading files is easy, with no file size limits, and unique URLs are generated for each file and folder to make sharing simple.

Third, users can remote into an on-prem workstation with a fast local connection using a remote desktop solution like Parsec. Alternatively, proxy mode can be used for the edit with any remote desktop method used to render from on-site workstations remotely.

With DigitalGlue, remote collaboration is simple and efficient.

Where can I see some of your work?

DigitalGlue's creative.space is compatible with applications that support SMB mounts. We've tested and optimized our systems for real-time performance in popular applications like Adobe Premiere and After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Apple Final Cut Pro, and Avid Media Composer.

There are some additional requirements for Avid Media Composer. In order to unlock SMB support, you need MIMIQ, an additional per-seat 3rd party license that is sold per seat, with volume discounts available. For Bin Locking, you must also use the Ultimate version of Media Composer.
